• Optional account information if you create a saved-favourites profile

• Pages visited, referrer URL, time on page, search terms entered on the Site

• Deliver and personalise breed recommendations and care guides
• Respond to your questions and provide customer support
• Send newsletters and care reminders when you have opted in

3. Third-party advertising — Google AdSense

Maowsy is a participant in the Google AdSense advertising programme. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our Site and other sites across the web.

• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to maowsy.com and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics processes data including IP address and cookie identifiers; we have IP anonymisation enabled where supported. Aggregated analytics data is used only to improve content and is not used to identify individual users. Google’s use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.

5. Affiliate links and disclosures

Some links on Maowsy are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you make a qualifying purchase. Affiliate networks may set tracking cookies on the destination site for purchase attribution. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.

6. Information sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Trusted service providers (hosting, email, analytics, advertising) who process data on our behalf under written agreements
• Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights

• Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA (we do not sell information, but our use of advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” under California law)

8. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide our services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months; newsletter records until you unsubscribe; analytics data per our Google Analytics retention setting of 14 months.

9. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and provider-level safeguards. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International data transfers

Maowsy is operated globally. Information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Children’s privacy

Maowsy is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the UK and EU). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when the most recent revision was made. Significant changes will be highlighted at the top of the Site.
